I was born and educated in Cuba, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from the Faculty of Humanities. Since 1999, I have been permanently based in Finland, where I continued my studies in multimedia and obtained a Professional Photographer Diploma from the Institute of Visual Communication (V.V.I.) in Tampere.
I work as a freelance photojournalist, with a strong interest in covering relevant socio-political, cultural, and sporting events. Throughout my career, I have developed a deep passion for visual journalism and authentic storytelling, firmly committed to the core values and principles of journalism: the pursuit of truth, factual accuracy, and impartiality.
My main motivation is to capture meaningful moments, preserve them through my lens, and share real stories that emotionally connect with audiences. I consistently strive for authenticity and journalistic integrity as the foundation of my work.
I consider myself a lifelong learner, driven by insatiable curiosity and a constant desire to expand my knowledge and professional skills. I am currently refining my abilities in audiovisual storytelling and working on several personal projects, including the production of a biographical book and a photographic series focused on the dreams of freedom and democracy in Cuba. I am also keenly interested in exploring new multimedia technologies and digital platforms as contemporary tools for expression and dissemination.
As a visual journalist, I have had the opportunity to cover a wide range of events, an experience that has strengthened my adaptability, ethical standards, and editorial judgment. I am available to travel worldwide and fully capable of working independently, from field coverage to editing and post-production.
I define myself as honest, organized, and proactive, with a strong sense for identifying relevant stories and the courage to express my viewpoints with integrity. I perform well under pressure, maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude even in demanding environments.
